We had our Mission Leadership Council meetings in Moncton, New Brunswick. We had lots of great training. One object lesson including changing a baby's diaper which Elder Kearsley performed very well.
We had interviews on Prince Edward Island and attended their District Meeting. The training at district meeting was very good, and the missionaries there are all doing well. Love these photos.
We did take a p-day to see a few of the sights in Newfoundland. (I was joking about the whales--we haven't gotten a chance to see whales yet.) We did, however, see icebergs and puffins and wildflowers. Throughout the maritimes in the summer you will see lupines. We also saw wild irises. Thought you would be interested in seeing the beauty of the CHM.
Yes, it has become tradition (since we are now meeting at the Lion's Club) to have every group photo with the lion:) This is our smallest zone conference (number of missionaries) but certainly not the least meaningful or fun of our zone conferences. Our Newfoundland missionary couples are the ones that feed us at our zone conference now (much nicer food than at the Gander Hotel). We appreciate them so much for providing the food for zone conferences and other meetings as well as innumerable and unusual ways they serve the missionaries and people of Newfoundland.
Our Wednesday Zone Conference took place in Dartmouth/Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. Our office missionaries fed us tasty Mexican food, and we received great insights as we counseled together to make our mission stronger. Our office couples (the Hulls and McKibbins) and Sis. Street take great care of the us, the missionaries, and everyone in the mission boundaries.
Our New Brunswick Zone Conference took place in Moncton, New Brunswick as usual. We are treated very well there. A wonderful group of members feeds us at every zone conference (every 6 weeks). They are so kind to the missionaries, and we appreciate their caring service. You can see below the process it takes to get an organized group photo of 60+ missionaries as well as photos that demonstrate how much the missionaries love being together!
We had a very lively, fun, and dedicated group of missionaries depart this month--5 amazing sisters and 3 fabulous elders. Each of these missionaries is remarkable in his/her own way and will, I am certain, do much to serve God and others as they go forward. We miss you already!
Our new group of missionaries has arrived. They are excited and ready to work. They are the first group to receive additional training at a New Missionary Training event here in Halifax. We are so impressed with them and how quickly they are adjusting to missionary life.
This is our group of missionaries in the Metro area who walked in the Canada Day Parade in Sackville, Nova Scotia. As you can see, they are smiling despite the drizzle!
We had a great leadership council in June. We are all learning to counsel together to receive inspiration. It's remarkable how well that works and how insightful the missionaries are. You can see we had a great hands-on lesson about "getting water to the end of the row" and how the leaders need to communicate training to every missionary so that all benefit.
