Thought you might be interested in the mission home and the area surrounding it since everyone begins and ends their mission here. Also, those serving in the Halifax area will see similar beautiful environs.

So far just a couple of photos of our new arrivals. Hope to have more to post later. They are going to make great missionaries! Last week was our first transfer week. Tuesday evening we got 5 new (and tired) missionaries. They had been traveling since 3 a.m. that morning. We spent Wednesday training and feeding them and Thursday morning they were out the door on their way to their new areas. Very excited to get to know this wonderful group of missionaries.
Our departing missionaries attended a temple session Thursday at 3 p.m. They then arrived at the mission home for dinner, a wonderful testimony meeting, and free time. We all had a wonderful time while President Pratt was in bed sick for two days (hence the reason he is missing in the photos). He recovered in time to take the missionaries to the airport Friday morning. We didn’t spend a lot of time with these missionaries, but we miss them–they were so awesome! Hope they are enjoying their time as civilians. One of our missionaries shared a sweet story of a recent convert that she taught on her mission. We would love for all of you to read the story yourself at the following link:
https://canada.lds.org/the-call A bit of trivia–Atlantic Canada has a very elaborate garbage recycling system. The first time we came across it was at Tim Hortons (an iconic sandwich chain) on the night we flew into Halifax. It took 5 minutes to throw out the trash. Some of our missionaries have served out their entire mission without quite conquering the system.
We came across a typical example of this system at one of our own chapels. |
