We had 2 great missionaries arrive last night. This is the 2nd time in a row that missionaries have made their Toronto connection and arrived at a decent hour (hooray!). Sister Green arrived from Grande Prairie, Alberta. She seems happy to begin her missionary journey, and we are grateful she's here. Elder Gregson--also a Canadian missionary--arrived last night as well. He is from Lethbridge, Alberta and seems equally happy to be here. We are so glad to have him here as he begins his mission . Can't wait to see all that he will accomplish.

Elder Braeden Butt has been called to serve in the Guatemala, Guatemala City Central Mission. He was set apart as a missionary by President James R. Pratt (Canada Halifax Mission President) at the Halifax International Airport during a stopover on his way from Corner Brook, Newfoundland to the Mission Training Center in Provo, Utah. His grandparents, Lloyd and Doris Butt, are pioneers of the Church in Newfoundland; and his father, Dr. Sheldon Butt, also served as a missionary. Thus, the family has a legacy of faith and service which Braeden is excited to continue. We pray God's blessings will be upon him and his family.
We are now having additional training for new missionaries during their first 12 weeks. We believe this will benefit the missionaries greatly. So far we feel it has been very successful in helping the new missionaries understand their priorities and giving them ideas that will aid them in their efforts. We feel very good about these young missionaries and are once again amazed at their goodness and strength. It says a lot about the future of the CHM.
